Novel Storm

The smell of her perfume last night was exciting and erotic. It is amazing to him even now, the five beer and crack enhanced evening had him thinking she was the most beautiful woman he had ever met. Maybe it was the twenty straight days of driving that made her the most beautiful woman he had ever met, in twenty days. The mad passionate love they made was still fresh in the mind of Jake when she asked to ride with him. She was supposed to be a woman he would never see again, or so he thought. There had been others in a different towns and states. The promises of the night before, as the bed shook with the power of two in a passion felt only on rare occasions, would be forgotten the next morning by breakfast. The sound of eighteen wheels on pavement was going to be the music Jake listened to for the next thousand miles until the next rest stop. Jake was good and careful, with only one exception, he had made an appointment with someone he was going to regret meeting. No log books were going to show the end results of that nights entertainment. No receipts for what happened were going to be deductible. Jake was not going to have to worry about the government coming after him ever again. The last sound he’d hear would be the muffled sound of a gun and he would be dead.

Or would he?
